Plate heat exchangers (PHEs) are a highly useful industrial component for passively (without extra energy) controlling fluid temperatures using other fluids that may already be part of the industrial process. Plate heat exchangers are comprised of plates, also known as a plate pack, that are stacked together and closed in by two steel covers. The plate pack has a small distance between the plates, allowing the heat transferred from the fluids to circulate. This circulation process transfers heat from the plates as it flows through.
Here’s a brief explanation to show what applications are popular for plate heat exchangers.
1. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems
2. Food and Beverage Industry.
3. Chemical and Petrochemical Processing Industry.
4. Oil, Gas Industries and Power Plants.
5. Solar Thermal Energy Systems.
